MY RATING Summary
When brainstorming who to post, I always felt that I needed to start with the always beloved dog breed, the Labrador Retriever.
The first Lab that popped into my mind was Marley & Me, a good tearjerker movie that caught me by surprise.
I was dating someone, and we decided to watch this.
We thought we were gonna watch a happy and cute dog movie, but we ended up crying a river.
Don’t get me wrong, it was a sweet flick, but I won’t consider it a dating movie.
No spoilers, watch or read the book if you haven’t.

TRIVIA
The lovable but mischievous Labrador Retriever from Marley & Me became famous through the best-selling book by John Grogan and its subsequent movie adaptation. Here are some fun trivia facts about this canine:
- Real-Life Inspiration: He was based on John Grogan’s real-life Labrador, who was just as energetic and troublemaking as the book depicted.
- Untrainable Reputation – He was expelled from obedience school and was known for his destructive habits, such as chewing furniture and knocking things over.

- Movie Adaptation: The 2008 film starred Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. Twenty-two different dogs portrayed this labrador at various life stages.
- Therapy Dog Rejection – In real life, Grogan once tried to get him certified as a therapy dog, but his hyperactive nature made that impossible.
- Legacy—Despite his chaos, he was a deeply loving pet who symbolized unconditional love, leaving a lasting impact on readers and viewers worldwide.
