1. The Smallest and Largest Primates

• The mouse lemur, found in Madagascar, is the smallest primate, weighing just 1-3 ounces (30-90 grams)!
• On the other hand, the eastern lowland gorilla holds the title for the largest, with males weighing up to 450 pounds (204 kg).

2. Primates Have Unique Fingerprints

• Just like humans, chimpanzees and gorillas have unique fingerprints. In fact, their prints are so similar to ours that even forensic experts can have a hard time telling them apart!

3. Monkeys Can’t Swing Like Tarzan

• Unlike what cartoons suggest, most monkeys can’t swing from vines. Instead, they move through trees using a method called quadrupedal walking or leaping. However, apes like gibbons are true experts in swinging, a motion called brachiation.
